Darin Friedmann studied at the Stanford Center for Technology and Innovation in Kyoto during his junior year at Stanford’s School of Engineering, and then moved to Japan after graduating to work for Nippon Otis Elevator Company, part of the Matsushita Group. After leading Nippon Otis’s rail group in Asia for nearly 10 years, he relocated to NY to work with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America. He has led MHI’s rail business in the US for 21 years, and is presently their Vice President.
